Where exactly did Mille Feuille come from?
Mille Feuille
Mille feuille’s original name was gateau de mille-feuilles. Literally translated, it is “A thousand-layer cake.” Mille means a thousand and Des Feuille means sheet or leaf. So, it means a thousand leaves.
France
Mile feuille is a French dessert. There is another name called Napoleon, but it has nothing related to Emperor Napoleon in any way. Sometimes it’s called cream slides. As the name suggests, the flour used to make it into thousands of layers is puff pastry. The original formula is nothing more. Three layers of puff pastry are divided in the middle with flying cream. It’s very delicious.
