“Mochi” is believed to have originated in China and spread to Japan in the 10th century. Japanese called this dessert “mochi”.
Mochi
Mochi is made from steamed Japanese rice. Then, it’s pounded until it’s a sticky dough and it’s divided into pieces and we usually eat with sugar mixed with soy flour or soy sauce mixed with mashed radish.
