It is served with syrup made from sugar with jasmine flowers. The dessert contains fresh coconut milk squeezed from coconuts with crushed ice.

Originally, Water chestnut in Coconut Milk was just a common dessert of the villagers. One of the queens in King Chulalongkorn picked up the recipe from the villagers to develop and improve to serve as one of the dishes for the king. From then onwards, water chestnut in coconut milk was published as a royal recipe in thai cuisine and continued its reputation. Its deliciousness has been famous until now.
