Bingsu
The word bingsu comes from the word “pat bingsu” which means shaved ice topped with red beans. It has been recorded that in the Joseon period, it was found that the dessert menu was made with coarse crushed ice and then topped with 2-3 types of ingredients. After the Korean War, People changed topping from red beans and fruit to other ingredients such as ice cream, cereal, syrup, and whipped cream.

The original recipe that is sold in every area is called “Phat Bing Su” and is shaved ice and red bean paste which will be placed on the ice with a taste similar to sweetened condensed milk and may be added nuts and grains.
