Steamed Layer Cake It is an ancient dessert used in auspicious ceremonies. There is a Thai belief that the dessert must have 9 layers to be auspicious and prosperous. The most common colors is green from pandan leaves and blue from butterfly pea flowers. Most of them are made with coconut milk, sugar, and 3-4 types of flour depending on different formulas.
