“Tokyo Dessert” originated in Thailand around the year 1967 at Daimaru Department Store. (Ratchaprasong area) assuming that the name of the dessert Tokyo comes from the city name Tokyo. Because this department store imports products from Japan and another assumption is that the word Tokyo snacks (Mini pancake rolls) is distorted from the word “Roniao”(meaning duplicator)
Khanom Tokyo (Khanom means snack in Thai)
“Khanom Tokyo” Thai dessert that looks like the Japanese dessert name “Dorayaki”. That is made from a thin pancake mix. Then, roll and wrap various fillings such as sausages, eggs, and custard fillings.
