The history of the Macaron

The Macaron, a French dessert, was introduced during the reign of Louis XVI, a period of revolution. France’s economy was relatively poor at the time; it could be described as a famine period.

Venetian monasteries brought almonds, egg whites, and sugar to cook food to sustain their lives. These raw materials are affordable and provide the same amount of nutrition as meat. Macaron is one of the foods that is made by combining ground almonds, sugar, and egg whites until they have a smooth texture. Then bake it in the oven until it emits a light aroma, then assemble it into the shape of a small flying saucer. The flavor is sweet and crispy on the outside but soft and melting in your mouth on the inside. It tastes great and is reasonably priced.

In the original French method, they prepare a meringue as “French Meringue” by whisking egg whites with sugar, unboiled, and slightly whisked by hand. This is the original method that the French people have used for the past centuries.
